Newport News, VA.––(Oct. 7, 1991) nVIEW Corp. (NASDAQ: NVUE) has begun
shipping MediaPro, the company's newest LCD projection display panel. MediaPro
can project images from both computer and conventional video sources when
placed on an overhead projector. MediaPro is completely portable and displays
images from up to four sources concurrently. Source switching is as easy as
touching a button on the product's remote control. In addition to Mac II series
computers, VCRs, TV receivers, laser disk players, camcorders and PCs can be
connected to the MediaPro to project data, images, video and multimedia for
group viewing during presentations, training, business meetings and
demonstrations. MediaPro can be seen at nVIEW's COMDEX booth at #B528,
Multimedia Pavilion, Bally's Casino and Resort.
Active Matrix Technology and Proprietary Electronics
----------------------------------------------------
MediaPro is equipped with an active-matrix LCD and proprietary electronics
which produce crisp, clear moving images in rich, saturated 32,768 simultaneous
colors. The product's superb image quality, ease of operation and portability
make it a more versatile presentation solution than many 3-gun, CRT-type
projectors and large display monitors. MediaPro weighs 8 pounds and can be
placed in its impact resistant case and taken anywhere. MediaPro is compatible
with worldwide video standards (NTSC, PAL, SECAM), includes an international
power supply and is equipped with connectors which allow the use of nearly any
video source. It is easy to set up and operate because it does not require
complicated adjustments. Room to room, country to country, MediaPro is an
economical presentation solution.
Other MediaPro features include a remote control for on-board or remote
adjustments, a pull-down menu for additional controls, full help messages and
status information, as well as an impact-resistant carrying case. The
MediaPro's status bar can be turned on and off from the remote control and
includes source selection, video type, and actions being performed. With the
optional MediaPro Computer Control Kit, all functions available through the
remote control can be performed by the user's computer. This allows multimedia,
multi-source presentations to run automatically with all sources and the
MediaPro itself to be controlled by the computer (such a presentation will be
shown at nVIEW's COMDEX booth).
nVIEW Corp., based in Newport News, VA., is a leading developer of LCD
projection equipment with a full line of monochrome and color products.
MediaPro's suggested retail price is $9,995.
